We are continuously upgrading Cloud Fleet Manager, adding new functionality, enhancements and improving the overall usability. With this article, we would like to give you a brief overview of some of the greater edits to the system. For a comprehensive overview of all changes, you can visit the “What’s New” report in Cloud Fleet Manager at any time to see what exactly happened in each of our modules.
New features
CFM Crewing is your one-stop solution to handle all crew-related tasks centrally and in an intuitive way. From master data management of seafarers, planning the crews on board as well as their relief, the management of working and rest hours of the crew up to managing payrolls, everything can be done in one single solution.
To further increase efficiency when managing earnings and deductions in multiple monthly payrolls, we enhanced our user interface. We implemented a grid view that enables you to manage the payrolls of multiple seafarers in a single view without the need to switch tabs or access the data of seafarers several times. The same goes for the finalisation of payrolls. Simply click „select all“ and finalise multiple payrolls with a single click.
Our new grid view offers, among others, the following functionality:
Manage multiple payrolls simultaneously.
Add new columns to the grid view on the fly. For example: If you would like to add a bonus to the payroll of several seafarers, you can now simply add a new column to the grid view and apply the bonus to all selected seafarers at once.
To ease navigation and keep click-work to a minimum, we added multiple keyboard shortcuts for the grid view. You can navigate horizontally/ vertically or enter new columns to the grid using simple shortcuts.
Filter for specific seafarers or pay codes, getting rid of the need to scroll if there are various entries.
Option to either show all payrolls, all open payrolls, or all finalised ones. Additionally, you can quickly switch between different payroll months.
To quickly identify the status of seafarers and to increase efficiency when handling payrolls we added a new visual indicator. All seafarers that had a period of sickness during a selected payroll month, have a red cross icon displayed next to their image.
Easily switch views to manage earnings and deductions or to get a summary of all proceeds.
Finalise payrolls directly from the grid view. Either for a single seafarer or as a bulk-finalisation for multiple ones. Accompanied by this new feature, you can now also re-open multiple payrolls at once.
Additionally, we updated the “Monthly Wage Account” template:
- To enhance clarity and comprehensibility when using the “Monthly Wage Account” template, we updated the label “Balance” to now state “'Balance forwarded to next month”. The label was adapted to reflect the case that a seafarer remains on board and there is no balance that can be transferred to the next month if a complete payout has happened.
Enhancements
In addition to the changes above, we made the following enhancements to the system:
CFM Accommodations lets you easily manage the cabins and bunks on board your vessels as well as arrange respective cleaning or maintenance services. Just like our other modules, CFM Accommodations offers a variety of options for the export of data. Thus, allowing you to process the data in other systems or use them for other purposes.
To enhance the flexibility of our exporting options and to provide users of our system with exactly the information they want to process, we redesigned the export on the "Directory" subtab. Users now have the option to decide dynamically which columns to include in the Excel export, offering enhanced flexibility.
By default, the following options are pre-selected when exporting data:
Rank
Name
Cabin
Direct Dial
CFM Incidents enables you to seamlessly document any incidents or near-misses that occurred on board your vessels. After an event has been documented, corrective or preventive actions can be defined as well and are then automatically synchronised with the office.
To ease follow-ups on an event, it is now possible for the responsible crew to directly check on board which departments in the office were assigned as responsible. This way, the crew can immediately see which tasks will be handled by the office and which actions need to be performed on board.
CFM Maintenance allows you to plan your maintenance work centrally, precisely and according to your requirements. It gives you full visibility of your fleet status and lets you regain control over the maintenance jobs of your fleet.
When dealing with a variety of different maintenance tasks, it can become difficult to stay on top of things. To make managing a multitude of jobs easier and clearer, we enhanced our options for filtering.
- It is now possible to directly search for specific internal job codes to find the information you are looking for even faster.
CFM Purchase provides you with all sections of the purchasing process at one point in an intelligently structured manner, gives you full control over your budgets and allows your suppliers to work directly with this information. Thanks to an intuitive dashboard that features the most relevant information and upcoming tasks, CFM Purchase enables you to always focus on what is important and to streamline the complete purchasing workflow.
We are constantly enhancing our solution and its dashboard to enable you to work in the most efficient way. To let you handle your everyday operations even quicker, we added two new cards to the dashboard:
"Requisitions to be approved"
"Orders to be approved"
Additionally, uploading documents for deliveries on board in Cloud Ship Manager is now easier than ever before.
- We enhanced our options, making it possible to upload documents directly to the “Expected Deliveries” card while on board. This feature allows you to confirm the receipt of the delivery and attach the relevant delivery document in one step.
