We are continuously upgrading Cloud Fleet Manager, adding new functionality, enhancements and improving the overall usability. With this article, we would like to give you a brief overview of some of the greater edits to the system. For a comprehensive overview of all changes, you can visit the “What’s New” report in Cloud Fleet Manager at any time to see what exactly happened in each of our modules.
New features
CFM Maintenance allows you to plan your maintenance work centrally, precisely and according to your requirements. It gives you full visibility of your fleet status and lets you regain control over the maintenance jobs of your fleet.
- You can now carry out risk assessments for maintenance jobs that were pre-defined in the corresponding job definitions on board the vessel.
CFM Vessel Particulars lets you set up the foundation of your successful vessel management. Record and maintain a vast amount of specific data for every vessel and let your departments benefit from data such as dimensions, capacities, propulsion, consumptions or delivery information for a smooth acceleration of their individual businesses.
- You can now add multiple main engines for a single vessel.
Enhancements
In addition to the changes above, we made the following enhancements to the system:
CFM Accommodations lets you easily manage the cabins and bunks on board your vessels as well as arrange respective cleaning or maintenance services. Just like our other modules, CFM Accommodations offers a variety of options for the export of data. Thus, allowing you to process the data in other systems or use them for other purposes.
As a system administrator, you can now manage permissions to provide specific ranks with the rights to access functions and perform actions within CSM Accommodations. This way you can make sure that only qualified personnel get access to critical functions of the app.
A new full-text-search is now available on the 'Timeline' subtab allowing you to enter the name of the desired cabin and find it quickly in a long list of cabins.
When a cleaning interval is deleted by a user on board, the system now automatically deletes the corresponding service records that are neither done nor in progress.
CFM Cashbox & Bonded Store makes it much easier to handle cash on board. Just setup your default currency cashboxes ashore and synchronise to your fleet. For a smooth transition from paper to digital work, your crew only needs to register the initial balance and is immediately ready. Cashbox allows you to keep track of all cashbox transactions and raise a cash to master request when new money is needed. Bonded Stores seamlessly integrates with Cashbox and assists you to register all transactions in your on-board shop.
- You can now specify an accounting number when creating customer types or sale types under Settings > Bonded Stores.
CFM Certificates ensures that you all your necessary certificates are up to date and this way, that your vessels are seaworthy. It provides you with various options for the setup of certificate types, such as pre-warning periods, categorization on the revalidation (on expiry, annual or intermediate surveys), the definition of port- or flag-state requirements, or the assignment of responsibilities.
- For each vessel, you can now hide or show the columns of a certificate using the new filter 'Group by' on the 'Vessels' tab. By default, all columns are selected in the filter and thus displayed on the tab. With this feature, you can set up your own customized view for the certificates of your vessel allowing you to work more efficiently.
CFM Crewing is your one-stop solution to handle all crew-related tasks centrally and in an intuitive way. From master data management of seafarers, planning the crews on board as well as their relief, the management of working and rest hours of the crew up to managing payrolls, everything can be done in one single solution.
When exporting bank payment files, the system now informs you about validation errors that might cause conflicts with your third-party cash systems.
You can now maintain a list of categories for external persons on board your vessels. The new list 'External Categories' is now available under Settings > Miscellaneous.
- When managing special allotments for seafarers, the system now automatically pre-selects the applicable payment and agency bank for the respective seafarer. This way, removing the need to manually select them.
- When finalizing a single payroll or several payrolls in bulk under Payroll > Monthly Wages > Grid View, the payroll balance is now also validated against the paid-out value.
- Only users with the permission to access general data of seafarers can export the cabin numbers of seafarers that are part of the dynamic crew list.
CFM Disturbance Report lets your crew easily create detailed, standardised service requests that can be directly assigned to the person responsible and which will then appear automatically within their dashboard. You can follow-up all service requests in a Kanban view, which gives you a full transparency an all pending requests and their individual status.
- You can now sort disturbance tickets in ascending and descending order on the 'Colleagues' and 'Vessels' tab.
CFM Emergencies lets you define different categories of emergencies and their corresponding tasks as well as to define if they are mandatory or not - all in line with both SOLAS and MARPOL. The respective locations onboard where the task needs to be carried out can be defined as well. Making sure that your crew is immediately aware of what to do and where to go.
As Cloud Ship Manager (ShipClient) administrators, you can now manage permissions for ranks defining which actions they can perform within CFM Emergencies.
The lifeboat settings in CFM Emergencies were enhanced. As a result, you can now assign a cabin to a lifeboat and seafarers that are allocated to a cabin will now automatically be assigned to the respective lifeboat when checking in.
- The column width in the export of the 'Duties' tab was adjusted where required so that one emergency category fits on one page. The rank abbreviation is used instead of the complete rank name to preserve space. You can now print the export with one page for each emergency category. If the categories do not fit on one page, a second page is added to the export repeating the column headers accordingly.
CFM Incidents enables you to seamlessly document any incidents or near-misses that occurred on board your vessels. After an event has been documented, corrective or preventive actions can be defined as well and are then automatically synchronised with the office.
- The layout of the 'Current KPIs' card on the 'Dashboard' tab was changed to be more user-friendly and highlight the most important information. The font size of the UI text was also adapted.

- The internal code is now included when using the 'Copy Components from Other Vessels' function under Vessels > Select a vessel > Components.
CFM MRV & IMO DCS enables you to easily record and analyse all key figures required to achieve compliance with both the EU MRV and IMO DCS regulations. The required data can be entered directly on board, all further calculations are carried out automatically in the system, you only have to forward the results.
- The 'Monitoring Plans' tab now also reflects a vessel with multiple main engines. Each main engine is reflected as one emission source. This feature further simplifies the handling of vessels with multiple main engines.
CFM Purchase provides you with all sections of the purchasing process at one point in an intelligently structured manner, gives you full control over your budgets and allows your suppliers to work directly with this information. Thanks to an intuitive dashboard that features the most relevant information and upcoming tasks, CFM Purchase always focuses on what is important and streamlines the complete purchasing workflow.
- We have extended several services and exports to make the administration of the catalogue items and handling of HS Codes even easier.
Cloud Ship Manager (CSM) integrates your fleet directly into all processes, is intuitively usable and enables your crew, to capture data at sea and to forward it to the office. Through this, your crew on board and your personnel on shore fuse to jointly acting teams.
- You can now add alarm sounds and instructions to your emergency categories under Settings > Duties > Emergency Categories. The entries are then also reflected in the muster list export of the corresponding emergency category.
