CFM Updates – February 2021
We are continuously upgrading Cloud Fleet Manager, adding new functionality, enhancements and improving the overall usability. With this article, we would like to give you a brief overview of some of the greater edits to the system. For a comprehensive overview of all changes, you can visit the “What’s New” report in Cloud Fleet Manager at any time to see what exactly happened in each of our modules.
New features and enhancements
CFM Accommodations: With our module for the accommodation of crews on board, we want to make sure that you can optimally plan the allocation of your cabins and keep in line with all guidelines regarding the rest periods of seafarers. For this reason, our module automatically checks for any potential conflicts when planning a cabin and highlights any problems accordingly. To better reflect the day-to-day business in a shipping company, we adjusted the restrictions for cabin planning:
- In cases where seafarers should be allocated to the same cabin regardless of potential work shift conflicts, the system no longer refuses the assignment to the same cabin but shows a warning message and allows to plan the allocation after the warning has been confirmed.
- To further enhance usability and reduce the time spent managing vessels with a great number of cabins, we added a new text filter in the accommodations section. This way it is now possible to directly filter for a specific cabin instead of scrolling through the list of all existing ones.
CFM Cashbox & Bonded Store: To facilitate and ease the processing of data from our module for the management of transactions on board, we extended the export options. When you are using data from our module for accounting to e.g. prepare transaction bookings, you can now simply select the additional column “Transaction Type” for the export, providing you with an immediate overview and removing the need to manually check transactions.
Public API: Cloud Fleet Manager is offering a wide variety of Applicable Programming Interfaces (APIs) that you, your agencies, or partners can use. As a result, it is possible to export or import relevant data such as crew lists or specific KPIs from Cloud Fleet Manager in a fully automated way. To further ease the exchange of data with third-parties and its subsequent processing, we significantly enhanced our public API:
It is now possible to retrieve data from single seafarers including their personal information. With this enhancement, you can significantly reduce the administrative burden and speed up processes, such as the creation of seafarer specific debit cards. There is no more need to manually enter or forward information since the exported seafarer data can now be directly processed.
We enhanced our API to make it possible to import data of seafarers who do not yet have an actual assignment date. It is now possible for third-party applications to create or update seafarer records.
- Additionally, we added a new status (IsArchived). It is now possible to export data from all seafarers and simply exclude those that are currently inactive. Offering a quick overview without any inaccuracies caused by inactive seafarers included in the export.
CFM Incidents: We enhanced the filtering options for the “Categories Report” to further enhance the user experience and allow users of the system to specifically filter for the data they are looking for.
It is now possible to specify periods of time instead of selecting a year for filtering.
We added a variety of new dropdown lists with the option to multi-select for faster processing (vessels, categories & types).
We added checkboxes to only show reports that include high risk or insurance cases.
CFM Portal: It is now possible for users to access the summary tab in Fleet/ Vessel even if their account does not have permission to access personal data. CFM administrators can now grant access to relevant details of the summary for dedicated users while personal details are hidden from this section to comply with GDPR.
- To increase efficiency while browsing through Event Reports, it is now possible to easily navigate to the next or previous ones using the arrow keys on your keyboard.
CFM Purchase: To ease communication with suppliers while ordering new goods and speed up processes, we added a new dropdown “Offered terms” relating to the quality of the requested items. With this new dropdown, it is now possible to simply compare the requested and offered quality of an item at a glance without the need to enter comments, enabling quick access to relevant details and easing the communication with suppliers. In cases where the offered quality is not in line with what has been requested, the system will automatically indicate a deviation.
Cloud Ship Manager: It is now possible to close currently open windows by pressing the “Esc” key on your keyboard.
